Complaints Against Another molestation cosmetic surgeon dr vijay sharma

Another molestation complaint against cosmetic surgeon

Cosmetic surgeon Dr Vijay Sharma, accused of molesting a 22-year-old TV journalist at his clinic in Khar on Saturday, was granted bail on Sunday morning by a city court but was arrested again later in the day in connection with another molestation complaint filed against him by a former patient, a 30-year-old woman.
The woman’s husband, a real estate agent and a second-hand car dealer, said, “A year-and-a-half ago, my wife got silicon breast implants and liposuction surgeries done by Vijay Sharma. Soon after, my wife started having complications. She would go back to Sharma for these problems, and on six or seven occasions he kissed her, took her to the bathroom in his clinic and made her take off her clothes.”

The real estate dealer added: “My wife told me about this a month ago, and I lodged an application with the police. However, the officer concerned went to Nepal for some work. I am in touch with the Deputy Commissioner of Police concerned and we want to lodge a complaint of molestation against Sharma.”

When contacted, police inspector Shivajirao Kolekar of the Khar police station said, “Yes, a housewife from Lokhandwala and her husband came to the police station today to lodge a complaint of molestation against Sharma. We have verified the complaint and registered a case of molestation against him. The accused also sent lewd SMSes to the woman in the past. We have arrested him and he will be produced in the court tomorrow.”

Claiming that Sharma had been framed and that he is innocent, his daughter Neha Veronica, a final year medical student, said, “I know my father and all these allegations are false. He is being framed by someone. He has been a surgeon since 1987 and is mentioned in the Limca Book of Records for having conducted the most number of plastic surgeries in India. In 2000, he received the best Asian cosmetic surgeon award at the hands of Michael Jackson at a ceremony in Tokyo. He is renowned all over the world. He has operated on several film and TV stars.”

Reacting to the fresh allegations against her father, Neha said, “This woman signed a consent letter which says that there was a possibility of her body rejecting the implants. When she complained after the surgery, we asked her to sign another consent letter to remove the implants but she refused. She said she wanted the implants as her husband was unhappy with her. All her allegations are false. My mother used to herself attend to her at our home. And there is always a female attendant present during any procedure or check up at the clinic. Why has she come forward only now when she claims she was molested several times in the past?”

Sharma was arrested on Saturday after a TV journalist accused him of molestation. According to the complaint, the journalist went to Sharma’s residence in Andheri for an interview on Saturday morning, following which she headed for his Khar clinic along with Sharma and a cameraman. After the shoot at the clinic, Sharma allegedly asked the cameraman to wait outside his cabin saying that he wanted to talk to the journalist. According to the complainant, Sharma then forcibly kissed her and molested her. He then allegedly threatened her with dire consequences to prevent her from lodging a complaint, the police said.

About what happened with the TV journalist, Neha said, “On Friday, my father launched a company called Excellent Makeovers with offices at Vile Parle, Andheri and Khar. There are three companies which have tied up as one. A press conference was held and a Bollywood actress was also present at the launch. The next morning, the journalist called asking for an interview, which she took at our house in Andheri. My mother was also present there at the time. The journalist then wanted some clippings of the actress who had come which we refused to release.”

Neha added: “She then asked to be taken to the Khar clinic for some footage. Once there, she started asking funny questions from my father. She asked him how his patients trusted him when daughters can’t even trust their own fathers nowadays. She then asked him what surgeries she could get done on herself and my father told her about nose surgeries, body sculpting and liposuction. On her way out, she gave a big smile to our receptionist. The door of the room was open throughout and secretaries and peons went in and served water to her in between.”
Claiming that Sharma had been framed, Neha continued, “Why would she leave the cameraman outside, if she is to be believed. Isn’t she an adult? If she was threatened by my father, the police must have the evidence of the mobile phone calls. After she left the clinic, someone called my father and asked him to talk to her. However, the call got disconnected and so he called back on the number. He was then told by a man that he would show him the power of journalists.”
